“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
Quote by ― William W. Purkey
Most of us go through life worrying about what others think of us, what they see in our actions, what they hear from our thoughts, what they take from our choices.
We become afraid of making the wrong move, saying the wrong thing, or taking the wrong turn in life. We do not want to upset or anger people, we do not wish them to look at us with disdain, we do not want to be the odd one out, pushed aside or cast out.
We all want to fit in, though perhaps through trying so hard, we are forgetting ourselves.
One day, the years will catch up on us and we will look back, and what will we see?
Will we have chosen the paths we wanted, or what is expected of us? Will we have grown into our own skins or someone elses? Will we have said what we wanted to say, wore what we chose, performed through life with pure happiness?
Perhaps we should not leave it until later in life to look back with regrets, to realise that we were not who we wanted to be.
Perhaps we should take this moment, right here, right now, and dance like there is nobody watching...
